Just got my 2006 International CE300 DT466 !
Hey everyone
I'm in south CNY and I just drove my bus home last weekend from Ohio! What a trip! Especially looking to connect with others that have the same bus for my many, many questions like:
Anyone have an electrical schematic or manual for this bus?
How did you design around the wheel wells?
What LED headlight replacement did you use?

I am always happy to share!
This manual is for the Electrical Chassis (body) only, not for the engine.
It was to large to upload as one file so I broke it down into two sections.
Hope you find it helpful!

Hi Wulfferine, did you find an answer to your LED headlight replacement question ? I have a 2008 CE300 and the headlights brightness absolutely suck, but I cannot find an alternative that has the same fit in the hood.

Can't help on the LED thing, but if your headlights are dim the bulbs are consumables and wear out over time. Dim bulbs, with no other problems, means the bulbs are about ready to fail and just need to be replaced.
That being said, you can also trace your headlight wiring back to the ground point. A loose or corroded ground will cause the headlights to be more dim than they should be.
If nothing else, it's possible to use your existing headlight wiring to operate a relay, and direct wire the headlights via that relay over a fused wire from the battery. Use 10ga wiring to rerun headlight wiring, and use a separate relay for each headlight so a relay failure doesn't kill both headlights. Doing it correctly involves dismantling the headlight plug and attaching the wire directly to the pins. The factory headlight wiring will operate the relay switch this way, then the battery sends full voltage and current to the headlights. You'll get much brighter factory headlights this way, with the downside being that you will likely be putting new bulbs in every year. Headlights typically only get about 8V by the time the power reaches the plug, and putting the full 12V runs them hotter and causes them to burn out faster. I've wired up a few vehicles like this and it's extremely effective at putting light downrange at night.

Thanks Veloc for the trick and detailed explanations ! I was almost to the point of adding additional headlights, but probably not DOT legal.

LED headlight upgrade
This is what I installed in my 2005 International bus:
https://www.amazon.com/Headlights-He...78&sr=8-5&th=1
My bus went from having candles for headlights to having the best headlights of any of my vehicles. This style has a well defined cutoff to prevent blinding other drivers, but still light up the road well. They installed just like regular sealed beam headlights would with one exception-on my bus, I had to disconnect the DRL module (located on the back side of the steering column). If my lights were off, the bus would try to activate the DRLs which caused the LED headlights to rapidly flash. So no DRLs, but the headlights are worth it. I drive with my lights on all the time anyways. I have had them installed for about a year with no issues, although the lights probably only have about 40-50 hours on them.

Not sure what happened. I just double checked this one, and it worked:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1

I have the slightly earlier variant of these on my DEV bus and they are FANTASTIC.. they Barely fit into my 3800 Hood but they do and work great!!!.. easy to adjust for a nice beam cutoff..

Now I can open the page. Unfortunately those would not work as they are rectangular. 2008 CE headlights are the “smiley” ones that wrap around the sides a bit.

those should use an internal bulb. look for a DOT approved TWO-SIDED LED headlight bulb (the 4 sided bulbs tend to spew light). I dont know the bulb number for those but you can get the factory bulb number and cross reference it to an LED.. measure for clearances in the buckets.. you may have to disable the DRL function as in my experience IH DRL controller will cause the lights to flicker when in DRL mode. its usualy a separate fuse you just yank out and then DRL is defunct.

I've never found a good led replacement for the 2006 IC conventional. However replacing the bulbs with a high quality halogen from Napa or similar then taking the time to sand and clean the lens has helped a lot.
A good guide is this video around the 4:15 mark

I did a little more digging on this. The 2006 IC conventional uses a TUN9007 headlight per Oncommand.
This is the halogen I bought from Autzone last time:
According to the specs it's 1000 Lumens.
Quick search on Amazon revealed this 10,000 lumen LED option.
However, it does not appear to be DOT or SAE compliant...
I may order a set and give them a try anyway. I remember on my older 2002 bus with the rectangular unit when we swapped in an LED we had a flickering issue until I added a resistor in-path so not sure if that'll be an issue with the 2006 or not...
Regardless, a good lens sanding and cleaning will still be a must-do.

Excellent ideas ! I have already sanded and refreshed the lenses and dipped headlights did improve a bit, but are still miserable. Curiously, Full headlights are decent though. I’ll try those additional ideas.
