Just got my bus!!

Hello all!

I just picked up myself a 72 International Loadstar 1600. I plan on replacing the materials used in the interior and upgrading some of the electrical equipment. I'm having trouble finding info on the bus, but I'm hoping to find some guidance here! I look forward to being apart of the community!

Still coming up with a name!

oh yeah!!! she looks like a butterfly-hood Loadstar gasser with a Carpenter body!!!

classic indeed!! clean it up , finish the conversion and enjoy!! the engine is likely a 304 or a 345, Possibly a 392 but not as likely. while they are older engines, they were often used in international Scouts and there is quite a scout following still so you can find parts, updates, upgrades and such on binderplanet forums. and there are several companies that sell parts for scout motors still..

Nice find! We have a 71. If you like look up our build "The bus" . By the way we do not have a name either for it, it just gets referred to as the bus.

We're getting the engine tuned up now! It sat for about 10 years so I cleaned the carb, drained and cleaned the gas tank, and replaced the battery and spark plugs. Just threw in some new distributor points as well. Hopefully it'll run after we adjust the point gap today. Only downside for me is the original windows were removed and I want more natural light. I'm also not sure what to do about a bed yet haha maybe Murphy? Futon? I can't find any good Murphy bed kits.
The engine, we confirmed, is a 345!
Also trying to find the best way to clean and paint it. Definitely a good project but I love it already!

Pressure washed the live plant matter from the body. Cleaned up nicely! Definitely going to paint later on once I learn how to do a glossy paint job.

That is an improvement. Amazing what a good cleaning will do.
