Love, Peace, and Bus Grease!!!

Hello!

I've been lurking here quite some time and love the forum. I am in the market for a bus and saw this one pop up and I'm headed to look at it this afternoon.

1997 GMC School bus Cat 3116

It's not my "perfect" bus but sacrifices are in order as I'm cash strapped and currently working on saving $$ and paying off debts owed. "Vilnius Nstavniec" is Russian for school master. If anyone knows the reference kudos!

A little bit about me. I'm a bus driver(mainly motor coach, but I've done it all, city, commuter, school, motor coach obviously, and a little tractor trailer) and eventually want to full-time (off grid as much as possible).

Anyway, I know the 3116 is not your ideal engine, but reading up on them as long as they are maintained I don't see why it wouldn't fit the bill until upgrades or an engine swap could be done.

I'll post more about the bus once I get back from checking it out and thanks!!

-Nstavniec

"He's called the 'Vilnius Nstavniec', the Vilnius Schoolmaster. Ramius has taken out every lead boat the Russians for the last ten years..."

Guess I'll have to try harder next time.

So, the bus has the AT545 transmission, and being in the northeast, the underside isn't pretty at all with a few things, ummmmm, detaching or about to...

This is where I wish I was still living out west.
