Coachwork: Thomas School Bus
Chassis: Westcoaster ER
Rated Cap: 84
Made my cross country trip.

I did it. I drove from Fontana, Ca. to Lakeland, Fl. In a 1995 Thomas Westcoaster ER without a single problem. Bus did 71 MPH and got about 6.4 MPG and I spent about $800 on Fuel. I have to say that CAT Engine purred like a cat.

So it did turn out to be a Cat. Glad it has worked out, it sure did look like a nice bus. Now you have a great start to your project, and some confidence in it too.

Congrats on the buy and safe cross country maiden voyage. I'm a little jealous, WestCoasterERs are hard to come by anyways. Sounds like you got a good one! Post pics and keep us updated on your build project.

We just purchased a 95 Westcoaster from Los Angeles school district. Interested in speaking to you about yours.

Wow! What an epic journey. Glad all went well and you're safe. I'm dreaming of my bus being able to make that journey, and definitely dreaming of 71mph!

Hey, me too! My A/C lasted all of one day before the compressor seized. Other than that (and needing new batteries) it's in pretty good shape.
