Smile Might become one

Wife and I just started looking at buses. We don't know what we don't know yet, so are doing our research. I'd like to have one with a flatbed or toybox in back, but we could just flat tow our Jeep. Just two of us and maybe some pets would us it. DW is retired and I'm getting close. We are not afraid of a project from scratch yet are considering everything up to turn-key ready to go with all the amenities.
I will be using the forum to avoid .

Welcome. All I will say is this. If your handy and not afraid of some work, building it yourself allows you to become more intimate with the bus. Which is good in those times you find yourself with an issue. If your going to just buy one finished, be aware of the "I thought I knew, but in the the end, we just glued it together buses." Lots of Instagram buses out there. Old school guys call them lipstick applied buses. They look good on the outside but the drivetrain is wrecked. Lot's of good deals where people have done the tear down of the seats, and then have decide mid project, this isn't for them.

Either way, buckle up, it's a journey. One if you stick around until the completion, you won't regret it!! We've made lots of memories in ours.

A friend of mine has one Jeep on the bus with a flatbed for the back half , and flat tows another for his wife. They cut the body right past 6 windows. This gives 13-14ft of living space, and the rest for the flatbed.

Tiny house festivals, and skoolie meets are great places to see buses, and get ideas.

You came to the right place, welcome.

Watch YouTube videos, and look past all the hype. Make sure to consider the standard RV trailer or Class C alternatives, and if a skoolie is for you it will be a longer road than you expect, but ultimately rewarding.
