Need advice on purchasing a bus on eBay

Looking to purchase bus from ebay.
Need help determining if this is a good buy without seeing it in person first. The auction ends today so I guess its time sensitive?

It's a 1999 International with a DT466E.
Air brakes
270k miles (is that too much for this engine/bus?)
95% thread on front tires
25% on rear
no rust (said the owner)
It has been gutted and insulated
Comes with fridge + tools and equipment

thinking about offering $2,500

https://www.ebay.com/itm/99-Internat...OTzp:rk:1:pf:0

thanks in advance

That bus came up for auction awhile back and we discussed it "being from a landlocked county".
Would be important to know what tranny is in it, but other wise does not look like a bad deal, sight unseen.
I still think Fla. has an issue with salt in the air that effects vehicles, landlocked county or not.

Where did you get the mileage figure from?
Curious why it is being relisted and 10 bids only to $2100 with an hour and a half left.

Why is there a tow truck parked in front of it??

That was the same question posed when I posted it back a month or so.
They did mention in the listing that they towed it from the action to home.
That tow truck isn't just parked in front of it, look at the left front wheel, it's in the air on the back of that wrecker.

Every time I look at that listing this Giilig keeps popping up. I'd rather have it for $2100 than the 3800. But it has an Allison behind a Cummins and has 800K miles on it.

Update, Drive train:
Allison B400r Transmission

Cummins ISL Engine

You only have a couple of minutes left to place your offer.

Went for $2750. See if it ends up there again in a month.

The owner listed his number on eBay so I sent him a text. I usually play things safe so I didn't bid. Theres so many variables to purchasing these buses. I would have never thought to think about the climate but it makes sense with rust and all. I appreciate your response.

He was asking $2800 on FB so maybe not. He says "he's helping a relative sell it".
The only real reason I gave this some thought cause they gutted it. After seeing videos of people taking out millions of rivets I thought maybe I didn't need any insulation, haha.

I believe he said it was his sons. I would have passed for the motor issues. I want to start with something that has no issues, I'll run into plenty on the build.

If I didn't know better, i'd say the buyer just signed up here (after the purchase), and is asking about the engine issues.
