New and in need of input

Hello!
I am so happy to have found this forum. Until now, all I have had to go on, are videos of skoolie builds.

I am trying to plan out my skoolie before I pull the trigger on my purchase but the one thing I am stuck in is, the need for a wheelchair lift.

I have the majority of my floor plan figured out but I am absolutely stuck on a plan on a wet room bathroom beside the wheelchair ramp.

Is there anyone else here that uses a wheelchair?

Am I to understand you are in a wheelchair and will need a lift, as well as accessible bath? And you wish this bath to be next to the wheelchair lift? Or am I misunderstanding?

Yes! I saw the Steampunk build and rejoiced..lol

Now, yes I want the wheelchair lift, and the bath/shower. Since I can stand and even walk some, I dont need a special bathroom. I wanted to do a wet room so that I could sit on the toilet top while showering instead of having to bring along a shower chair. See?

If you look at the Steampink build, you can see how the bath could be on the opposite side of the bus. But, even so, I really needed input to help me find out if I could do a build in a stepvan, but...is there some sort of way to put the chair on an outside lift so that I save that interior room, or..hmm...would I end up getting robbed for my chair?

I just keep going around and around with this in my head and it's so hard when I dont have any real time experience

Thanks for posting that video. It's actually the one that showed me that I could actually do this. My only one concern is driving something that big. I ended giving my baby away to a homeless family because my arms are to weak to turn the wheel on a 1998 GMC Truck. Gah...she was pampered but the power steering was too...hard?

I can drive a 20019 King Ranch without any issues though.

Sporty Rick added a box truck lift to the rear of his bus for loading his motorcycles. It tucks up underneath the floor on the exterior when not in use. Of course I'm pretty sure that man is a machine and can fabricate literally anything, check out his profiles pictures. Really beautiful job.

Usually the steering wheels on these are pretty big. I don't really have issues with mine, but I've got plenty of upper body strength, so...
