New guy here from Chicago, no Bus yet

Hello boards, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm from the Chicagoland area, I enjoy traveling and have always had an interest in alternative styles of living tiny houses, container houses, vandwelling, etc.

While I've done some traveling in cars and vans, never lived full-time. Just discovered these boards yesterday while looking for busses and looks like a nice community you guys have here.

I'm actually currently looking for a bus so if anyone is selling feel free to reach out. While I realize that building a bus is probably half the fun I wouldn't mind getting something already completed, but also open to an unfinished project as well.

Anyhow, nice to meet all of you and thanks for having me.

Welcome ChiTown. Just make sure you have a place lined up in advance to store and work on it. Best of luck on the hunt.

Funny you say that. I just bought a house last winter and told my gf that was one of my requirements was I wanted a house with some property and a driveway that went back into the backyard, basically room to pull something back there, not just for busses, I also like sailboats and have a lot of projects but getting a big bus was one of my things I wanted a yard for.

I actually have a decent size yard, however unfortunately most of the yard is in my front yard, I'm pretty sure my neighbors and the city wouldn't be too crazy about me having a fullsize bus out there but I think I could get away with a shuttle bus or a shorty. I dont think I'd be going fulltime anytime soon, for now just weekend trips and maybe a couple week long roadtrip so that should suit my needs at least for now.

Welcome, I lived in Lake Bluff for years and framed houses all over southern WI. Only thing I miss about the place is people always walking up to you with a gas can, needing a couple bucks for gas....LOL

Best check the local ordinances to make sure parking it in the drive is OK. Quite a few folks here have run into large issues when some pissy neighbor complained.
