New here and need advice...

Hi Everyone -

My name is Bear and my wife and I decided last month that we are going to be buying a bus this spring and starting work on a skoolie conversation. We are in no rush and have no time lines for when thing have to be done. I want to buy the right bus for our needs. After looking a both flat nosed and standard style buses we have decided that we want to go with a standard style bus. We are planning on doing a roof raise when the time comes. Our younger child will graduate high school in 9 years so we won't be living full time in the bus till after then so I have lots of time to do it right.

For all of you who have been through a conversion and have wished you had done certain things differently I would love to hear any guidance and or advice for someone just starting out.

The only things we have figured out so far is that we are defiantly buying a standard style school bus when the right one presents itself and a basic layout. I have watched hundreds of videos on YouTube and elsewhere and we have a strong sense of the layout but I am sure things will change as the project gets moving.

Thanks in advance for all of the guidance and advice...

Things I learned:

. You get used to driving a big bus pretty fast. Short buses rarely make sense.
. Transit style buses have about 8 feet more usable space compared to a dog nose of the same length.
. Everything is 2 inches bigger in the bus than outside
