New Here...Questions...Direction

I am a New here to this forum and to the bus life. I am looking at a International 2010 Diesel 24 passenger bus with a Max Force engine 215 HP. Has anyone had any success in converting these to an RV? Is this a good engine? I have been doing lots of reading, but just starting out. Any direction, answers or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the group! You'll find many evenings of profitable reading here.

Pro tip: use the search bar with gusto: lot of questions have already been covered at great length.

For instance, just now I tried "Max Force" search and found this thread in which a senior member called that engine a boat anchor.

Also, 2010 has lots of emissions stuff on it that is murder to work on (=expensive). Many folks here recommend 2004 or earlier (or something like that).

Wishiing you the best!

It is generally considered that since late 04 and up there were more electronics added that can cause issues that are expensive and time consuming to diagnose, therefore we kind of stay in the 04 or older for the less headaches to deal with. This being said I'm sure there are newer buses that you may never have a problem with. If you're willing to go that route then the next question would be "how much are they asking for said bus?". It surprises me how much the price can jump due to it being a year or 2 newer.

The VT365 is a grenade with a loose pin.

RUN AWAY from anything that new. Maxxforce is NOT very well liked, although they keep the techs at the dealer busy!!!
IMO- NOT at all a good engine.

If you're a master diesel tech- still run away!
