Hello. New from nebraska. My girlfriend and I picked up a 1995 Thomas sat t liner. Plan on converting it to a rv for us and our kids. It was a old Lincoln, NE public schools bus with a stack of maintenance Records and reman engine tag. Overall pretty decent shape. Some rust that will be fixed. Needs three drive tires and a few maintenance items fixed. Has a oil leak either from power steering or engine. And has quite a bit of diff backlash that I’m going to let a local shop look at. One big question I have is on the engine. It’s a 6cta-210 factory according to interior tag. The engine is tagged 6cta and 250hp dated 2009. And has a reman tag on side of it. All my research keeps showing this as a marine engine??? Also how do I determine trans and rear end?

Thanks and looking forward to this project.

If you do little investigative work with your VIN number you'll find everything you need. I was able to track one bus I was bidding on down to where and when it was delivered, in 1988.
I'm not sure how Thomas' are labeled but my Blue Bird had a tag up front with axel, brakes and final drive info.
Not all VIN decoders are the same, some are much more detailed. Sniff around.
Thomas maybe able to help with an original build sheet.
