Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hello! Name's Willy and I'm now the owner of a 91 blue bird tc 2000. ? It's a front engine bus anyway. With a 5.9 cummins turbo diesel and 545 Alison transmission. I have just now found out what is involved with getting it registered as a motor home in Wisconsin. Fun Fun. Not sure if I'm going to raise the roof on it, but sure thinking about it. Otherwise just tearing out the insides now and trying to find information on this thing. Anyone who knows where I can find a manual on the engine and tranny, I would sure appreciate a heads up.

Welcome to the best SKOOLIE site on the WWW. I'm sure you'll find lots of information and help here.

I found manuals for my bus on e-bay pretty cheap. An other place you might want to check first is your local schoolbus depot they might have some manuals laying around the dont need anymore, who knows may be worth a try.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I will have to figure out how to post pics on here. I used to be pretty good with a PC, but seems the older I get the slower I get lol
Now if this pic shows up? It is as I bought it. I got the seats out and have been stripping the insides. Dreading pulling up the floor, but it has rot, so...
As of now, I'm planning on raising the roof, just because someone told me I couldn't pull it off! Wish me luck!

I'm planning a roof raise as well. Don't let anyone tell you it can't be done. There are plenty of stories on this site that prove otherwise.

Hi Willy; I'm also from Wisconsin, and I have the same bus as you but anyway, where abouts are you from? I can tell you from my experience, that licensing and titling are not really that bad If there is anything I can help you with, just let me know. Tim

Hi Tim, I'm from the Neillsville area. Took me half a dozen phone calls and 3 trips to different DMV's( all 30-50 miles away) to get the forms I need and the info on what I have to do to register the bird as a motorhome or truck. I thought about going with truck, just for the year round plates but got to thinking about insurance and which would be cheaper? Any thing you know to help me along would be greatly appreciated! They are telling me about safety inspections and then making sure I really did convert it ect. Got me kind of worried I would have a problem after spending my hard earned cash to buy and then fix it up.

Hi Jonathan, I did search and call, along with visit the dmv and finally got the info i needed. Thanks Tim! I have been lurking on here for about 2 years now. I did not own a bus so i did not register as I had nothing to give. Thanks for your input.
