New member from Michigan!

Hey Community Members!

I don't have a bus yet, and am probably about a year out from buying one. But, I wanted to start making connections in the community!

My wife and I live in Michigan and were wondering if there are any skoolies in the metro Detroit area that would be gracious enough to show us around your space?

Our current thoughts on buses...
- 32-35ft of living space
- 8" roof raise (I'm 6'2" and would rather have a little space)
- I love the roof raises that are done below the windows to allow clearance for normal counter height below the bottom of the windows.
- We are thinking a RE flat front for the visibility and floor space compared to bus length.

Anyway just dropping a line to say hi!

If raising the roof buy a blubird on IC. Avoid thomas as they're harder to raise and have it come out looking as good.

Thanks for the advice!

I'll keep that in mind as I scope out our favorite bus models.

I'm in Farmington Hills. Not a school bus but you're welcome to take a tour.

The Tin Can Tourists (tincantourists.com) rallies at Camp Dearborn (in Milford) might be worth a visit. They have one every spring and fall near Memorial Day and Labor Day.

It's not a Skoolie group, but there's a few home builds and conversions among the old campers there. Lots of unique stuff to get ideas from.

(Looks like May 14-17 is the next one. Open house is Saturday, the 16th, noon - 3:00. 2020 23rd annual spring gathering)
