Smile New member from Nebraska! (:

Hi all,

Joining here from Omaha, NE. I've been wanting to convert, travel, and live in a bus for several years and finally pushed myself to take the leap so I don't spend the rest of my life wishing I had. So here we are. I purchased my first bus this past Monday, May 18th. It's a 1985 International Harvester with a 6.9L Diesel engine. The search was long and I wanted to pull my teeth out every second but in the end everything lined up perfectly (doesn't that always happen when we stop worrying? ). I have very little/pretty much no experience in this area and have learned everything I [don't] know from YouTube, Google searches, this forum, and Facebook Skoolie groups. Fortunately I've got some help from different corners for all things mechanical, electrical, welding, and plumbing related. The ultimate goal is to become much more self-sufficient through learning to do a lot of things on my own, and also learning with the help of others who are more experienced.

I'm really, REALLY looking forward to this conversion and hopefully feeling like a part of the Skoolie community within the the next year. I will be vlogging so stay tuned if you're interested in following me in this journey.

Lots of love,
Kirah

Welcome.
my last work van was from the university of Nebraska. It was one of the huskers campus maintenance vans. Minty condition till you looked under it- all rust.
