Hi all! My name is Trevor and I'm based in the pacific northwest. Currently in search of a bus to convert into a skoolie to travel around the country. Hopefully I can start posting some process pics here soon!

Welcome to the forum. You won't have to go far for a decent bus. The best ones of the 5 I have bought were from the PNW. Normally well equipped for winter travel and mountains, but no worries of salt rust.

I bought one out of Beaverton, drove it to Atl. and sold it. Talk to the school bus garage manager, see what they may be retiring soon. They told me they used to direct sell them but always had little interest, so they started using the auctions. I paid $2500 for nice one. If they have some being retired offer them that $3k and you might leave with a deal. Never hurts to ask, all they can say is no, and that never hurt anyone. At least you'll have a heads up on when some will be available.

Well, just got back from a long drive to NE Washington and bought a bus, drove it back home yesterday.
1999 Bluebird with 24 valve Cummins, Allison MD3060, air brakes, 38'.
Demo work has been done and RV windows put in place of schoolbus windows.
One of the headlamps went out on the way home in the dark, that was not fun, but fortunately had my wife driving in front of me.
7/8 hour drive home for it's maiden voyage. Bus did great. Did have a moment where I think I accidentally hit one of the switches and it was downshifting a lot, wouldnt go above 50 or so. Light went on and I switched it back and it returned to normal. Need to get a manual if I can for this bus to learn all the nuances and educate myself.
Super stoked to have it in my driveway, now for the real work/fun to begin! Will post some pics soon.
