New peoples

Hi, my name is James. Lee and I just purchased a 1989 Bluebird 40footer. It already has the seat removed. Looking forward to setting this bus up. Also want to learn everything I can about it.

Hello and welcome James
Nice looking bus you got there. What's the story with the water heater mounted on the side like that?
Got my bus from the Lakewood Clover Park school district yard last March.
Cheers

Probably mounted per the directions. I've found many of the tankless water heaters were made specifically for outdoor shower use and the directions tell you to only mount it outside for temporary use.

Yep aware of the installation instructions, I was asking the op if there was a reason for a permanent install like that. It could be vandalized, damaged or stolen if this is a moving rv and not a stationary tiny home. Also just adds to the stereotype of the skoolie image. A bracket on the back with a waterline quick connect would mean the unit could be safely stored inside until needed and hooked up in minutes.
Cheers

This is how it was mounted when I purchased the bus. Not overly concerned with the theft part. Don't really like it sticking out the side but have not explored a different location yet. The first trip this bus gets is as a moving van. Then the retrofit!
