New short bus owner in OK

Bought this 2003 GMC/Thomas 19 passenger bus based on the Savana 1 ton chassis at the Norman PS auction. We live in Norman. My wife is pissed but my buddies and myself are elated. The Vortec 6.0 is blown so I’ve got it at the shop being replaced. Gave $800 for the bus. Hope to have less than $5k in it before I start modifying it. Not sure exactly what I want to do with it. I hope to find some good ideas on here.

Welcome to the site Scott.
I'm curious why you'd buy a bus with no plans for it!?

Luckily, there are lots of potential non school bus uses. You can build a camper/RV, or camper/toy hauler or a full on toy hauler, or...?
Good luck on your future with your Thomas...

Great question! I’m 40 and need a project with my 8 year old son. We will start with camping out of it but might turn it into a football tailgating machine or a party bus. I’m just not sure. It’s going to be a hoot whatever we do. I was looking at a ‘67 Olds 442 Convertible but she was adamant that I couldn’t have it. So I got this!! There are just so many things we can do with it.
