New skoolie

Hey folks, I just purchased a 2002 Thomas Saf-T-Liner MVP EF

I am planning to cut it down so I have 20ft of deck space and the rest will be converted to a living quarters. I want to keep it simple so just planning enough to legally be a motor home.

I got it for $850 and it has the typical floor support rust and soft floors, but I need to cut that out and build it heavy enough to hual my 6000 pound 4x4 so that doesnt really concern me.

I'm not really much of a poster but I will lurk and steal ideas all day and ask questions when needed.

If anyone cares I'm from lancaster ohio, hope to rob some ideas from all of youClick image for larger version

Welcome to the site.
That sounds like a cool project, and you're into it for relatively peanuts.
It would be badass with a tilting flatbed.
What are your plans on that?
Post pics along the way if you can.
Good luck!

I really like the looks of leavening a "bedside" vs chopping it down to a flat bed.
Sort of like this pic, but I want a little more bed length. Also would like to try to dove tail it, but keep the dove inside the "bedsides"

20 feet is about half your bus length. That would be about the same as the picture you posted. The bed in the bus in the picture looks to be about 17 feet. Just guessing based on the windows and wheels. I think your idea is very doable.
