New Skoolie from the Pacific Northwest
Hello,
I'm newly retired last june and what else could I do but start a skoolie project, right?
I have a 1995 thomas Saf-T-Liner that I'm converting. I've got some work done (gutting and removing one of the roof vents) but I have some significant plans for this project, including:
Solar power:
- 22 100 Watt solar panels on the roof
- 4 200 AmpHour batteries
- 3KW Inverter
- Vacuum tube Solar hot water heater
- dual exchanger hot water tank (hot water will be heated by solar, engine and at last resort, electricity (when there's capacity)
- Diverting/Composting toilet with external cleaning access
- Mini-split heat pump
I've got some of the parts and have been working on the architecture and plans.. I'll be posting a new thread in the projects section..
I've got a rather full wood working and metal working shop that includes table saw, band saw, jointer, planer, metal band saw, 54" metal shear, 52" metal brake, plasma cutter, tag, stick and mig welder, lathe, small mill and small CNC mill.
This will be fun and I'm really looking forward to the result.
