New skoolie owners from Illinois
Hello skoolie friends. My wife and I have been looking for a bus for sometime and finally purchased one this week. We were able to secure a 1995 Thomas Saf-t liner. We are looking forward to starting our conversion in the next few weeks. Attached are some photos of the beaut we picked up for a steal. We will be raising the roof as I am 6'7. I see there are plenty of posts that cover this issue which is great. I look forward in gaining some awesome knowledge from this awesome forum.

It is a beast for sure. This unit is running the 6CTA 8.3 cummins behind an Allison transmission. She has some real pep in her step.

James,
That is awesome. I hope we will be able to throw some ideas back and forth. We are looking forward to the project as well. What engine is your unit running?

Most certainly! Sharing ideas is great, I have learned much from the little time I have been here in these forums. These guys and gals are great!
I am running a Cummins 6CTA 8.3 with an Allison MD3060 transmission that has already had the 6th gear unlocked.

That is a beast! Can't wait to see you "raise the roof!"
When we get another bus in the future I will let my husband raise ours cause his head touches the ceiling.

Haha...yeah my wife and i basically lived In an attic while attending college. I am 6'7 and the ceiling was 6'6. We lived there two years...needless to say...a roof raise was a must for this bus.

Thanks.
Let us know because I'm trying to work out exactly what they will agree to, and what they won't.
FD ratio is critical to this.
