New to skoolie

Hello,

i have just purchased a 1991 Ford 7.3l idi terra transit shuttle bus. I did a poor inspection and have now discovered the the floor including cross members are mostly rusted away. Bus frame is still good and body mount supports still mostly good. but I've got a lot of work ahead of me. Any advice on floors would be awesome haha!

Seems to be lots of good info here!

Aloha and Welcome!

You will not be so bad if the crossmembers don't support the walls. If they do, if it were my bus, I would walk away and get another. But then I hate bodywork...
On the other hand, that may be your opportunity to add a foot of headroom by lifting the whole body

adding even a small amount of insulation to the floor also cuts down on road noise like a sheet of 5/8 plywood 1/2 in insulation and another 5/8 plywood

School districts do replace cross-members if they rust out on newer buses. It's a lot of cutting and welding, but the shapes are easy.
