Newbie and in need of a mentor!!

Hello everyone!

I am new to this life and website. I am lucky to have found this website, I consider it a hidden gem as of right now. I have spent sometime researching and trying to set a budget, time limit, and figuring out how to organize everything to be honest. There is a lot of work that goes into this but I am ready to dive in!

I am trying to find the best bus (preferably short) bc I will be traveling solo and taking my dogs (Rex, Cecilia) along with me. I am having trouble understanding the engine and transmission and which is best/easier to take care of. I will continue my research bc I would like to learn more about this lifestyle, it's freeing! Any recommendations would be very much appreciated. I am looking forward to hearing from you guys and make friends in this awesome community.

what area of the country do you live in?
would help figure out if anyone is close enough to physically help and or visit.
i feel like this site is a mentor for everyone and including the ones with many skills that run into things they have questions about?
we all have different busses and or ideas of what we want in our build as well as each specific persons budget and time frame is really what is gonna decide what gets done with the build?
location and a little more info about your intention for your build and we can help on this site and with a general location we might have someone close enough to come give ideas opinions,or even help with tools?

Post your questions ... someone will come long and answer them. If not, post a little more information to refresh the thread. I would suggest a new thread for each category of question. For example, after you have read all the threads about "what engine and transmission", post your particular question in the engine and powertrain section of the forums. It does help for you to read as much as you can so you can contribute as much as get an answer.
