Newbie but STOKED!

Happy Friday! Im the process of possibly buying a Shortie 2009 international DT466 with an Allison transmission -50,400 miles. I have been told that it’s a good engine Not sure if I’m having a midlife crisis (I did turn 50 this year) Or I just have realized that I want to take to the open road! I am definitely a newbie but I do have knowledge on how to do things myself, and I am stoked to get started on this build! Definitely could use advice from anyone that is willing to provide it! Peace out and have a awesome weekend!!!

Not sure what engine it is, but I'm pretty sure a 2009 will have a newer Maxxforce DT engine which I believe can be pretty dicey depending on the year. I don't personally know much about it, but I'd really look into the MFDT issues using the search function here. There are people much more knowledgeable about it on here, hopefully they'll chime in.

The '09 MF466 not the like the '10 & newer with cheap dual turbos. Nor the older models with problem harnesses. Definitely not the V-8s that Ford whinned about.
It does share the MF name. Still will have DPF. Also has wet sleeves.
Getting tougher to find the old legends. Especially in a shorty. That little guy will probably pull a huge towed, too.
Price vs rust/hours/milage still applies.

CK is well versed in the MF specifics.
