Newbie from outside Philadelphia, PA - Bus Against the World

Hello everyone. My name is Mike. My wife and I just bought a 2006 Ford E350 four window bus yesterday. Going to take it to the diesel mechanic next week to see what, if any, repairs are needed prior to converting it. Once the mechanics of the bus are rock solid, we’re going to be converting it into our dream skoolie. I’ve been lurking for a little while and am looking forward to being part of what seems like a really friendly and welcoming community. Have a great day!!!!

Welcome fellow Phillistine! What mechanic are you taking your bus to? I've had my bus at two different ones so far, I think they're OK but I wouldn't mind trying others out.

Hello there! I'm just outside of Norristown in Oaks.

I'm taking it to Santonis garage in Collegeville. They're top notch diesel mechanics that people drive a great distance to see. I'm fortunate that they're so close.

Cool, I may check them out someday. I'm in Delco myself. If you go to User CP in the upper left corner, you can fill out your profile details and then people will always know where you are and what kind of bus you have (helps with advice and such). Once you have 5 posts on the site you'll be able to post pictures.

Philly seems sparsely represented in the skoolie world, but there seems to be a number of new people lately which is very cool. Three or four newbies from nearby in Jersey, too. Speaking of Jersey, a trip to Joseph Fazzio Inc. in Glassboro is nearly a religious experience for a skoolie builder, especially if you'll need to do some metal fabrication on your bus.

Thank you so much for the advice. I'll have to definitely check out Glassboro. I appreciate the tip.

I had to google e350 4 window. That would make a nice everyday driver for me. Pick up stuff at Lowe’s
Hmmm.

If you’re not first, you’re last!
