Newbie from Southwestern PA

Hello All,

Newbie owner checking in from Somerset, PA. Just paid the deposit on a 1998 Thomas bus with 29,000 miles. Hoping to finish the paperwork and pick her up this weekend. Really looking forward to getting Project Bertha underway and having her ready for some early spring camping.

My last foray into festivals and tribute bands was Furthur 98!
My last dead show was Tampa 95. Good times. We even had real drugs back then!

Can't wait to get this bus of mine out on the road, though. May even hit a festival or two, who knows!

its definitely fun being on the road with the bus rather than always in it or under it with the tools!!!

to the OP,

fall, up here north is a greta time to work on a bus as the sun angle starts to go down but the days are still warm.. so you dont freeze and the sun doesnt burn you to a crisp!

just drove across the whole state of PA pretty much this past week going to and from NYC area (columbus ohio origination)..(drove the bus) took 2 different routes,,. the turnpike furst... then coming back 80 to 99 to 22 and then 79 from pittsburgh to 70 and home... great scenery

Hi Peter B

Wow you're close. I live in Richland. I'm in Vermont working for another couple of months. I'll let you know when I'm back and maybe we can get together. If I can help with anything in the meantime send me a message. Nice bus!

Congrats on the new bus. You're in for an adventure in both working on it and traveling in it. Best of luck and remember to post lots of pics.

That's awesome to have a fellow Skoolie so close. I'm actually closer to Jennerstown then Somerset. Wasn't the best timing to get the bus, we are in the middle of a 40'x30' garage build but it seemed like a good deal. Hopefully picking the bus up this Saturday in VA. It may sit for a bit as we finish the garage. Have fun in VT and we'll definitely have to get together when you are back!!
