Newbie in TN

Hi all,
Just learning about the skoolie concept and want to learn more. I had a class C motorhome for a while and learned how overly complicated and fragile they can be. Bus living sounds like a simpler option. I'm in TN near the AL border now but originally from southern California and Nevada. Money is a concern, I'm thinking I want a good quality bus but then will basically camp inside the bus for a while to save money. Basically car camping with a REALLY big car.

Welcome roryn3kids

I agree. Camping in a bus is certainly better than some of the places I've lived. It's a decent time of year to do that but you'll want to make sure you insulate before next winter.

Welcome aboard! Are you looking for a bus just for recreational/camping use?

Smile New here

Howdy y'all, I'm new to this and wanting to get a school bus to convert. I'm on very limited funds right now so it will be a slow process. I do need some information on it though. Someone told me that they were thinking about getting a school bus but was frightened away about maintenance costs and fuel mileage cost. Can I get some honest feedback her on the important things I'll need to know please? I was looking for a full size bus in comparison to the short bus. And would a box truck or van be better. I was looking into the school bus because I need to stand up straight and not stay bent over all the time.
