Newbie Saying Hi

Hello All,

Newbie here. I've not purchased a bus yet, but I'm hoping to in the next couple of weeks. I want to thank everyone here as I've found some already great information which has been really useful. I've worked as a full time auto tech for years, but school bus tech is a new and interesting challenge for me. I do have a couple of questions though.

I'm looking at an 87 f700 with a Thomas Built bus. The conversion has already been started, and from what I can tell it looks pretty good. Is there any items on this set up that I would want to replace immediately? IE, known failure points?

Also noticed that some of the tires are on the wear bars, so i think I should replace before heading out of town. However, has anyone ever used any sort of roadside service on one of these things, and if so, what type of service is there. Something like triple A for Buses?

Any and all questions comments and criticism are warmly accepted!!! The main plan on this vehicle would be to drive to the NASCAR race once or twice a year, with the guys, and maybe a beer or two.

Thanks in advance,
Josh.

Re: Newbie Saying Hi

welcome, we have coach net right now

I personally would stay away from the ford Lucas girling brake system ($$ to fix and overall pain in the arse)

my opinion is just that my opinion

Re: Newbie Saying Hi

I tried Coach Net, but the refused me. Said I had to get it titled as a RV first.
