If you haven’t got a mt643 yet and still want to use a 643, i have one from my bus i am selling, the flexplate (flywheel), shifter and cable, filter base, torque converter, and a mt643 service manual all go with it. I put a fuller 10 speed truck tranny in my bus. The allison works fine (i’ve had the bus since 2008, never had a problem with the transmission, and just changed transmissions last year), i just wanted a manual tranny. The mt 643 i am selling is for air brakes, no parking brake on driveline. Dm me if you are interested in the transmission

I'd be interested in the flex plate, I've got a factory reman from LKQ Missouri coming.

How much money ya got and how much of a mechanic are you?

I read through some of that link. The housings will bolt up, it's all sae standardized sizing. I'll argue about the 3/4" longer statement being okay. Converter protrusion and pump engagement are pretty critical. I wouldn't throw anything together without checking either of those first.

Cadillackid did that swap on his bus. It wasn't cheap, but he used a built transmission instead of something used. A few others have swapped the allison 2000 in place of their 545's on here too. Do a search and read about their trials and solutions.

Moral of the story is that it can be done. ECM's can be programmed, parts can be bought, and transmissions can be installed. It's likely cheaper to go with an mt643, but the 2000 will get you overdrive. Just make sure you don't exceed the capabilities of the transmission.

Here is a photo of the flexplate from my bus, a 1985 mechanical dt466. If it will work on your 360 i can sell it separately from the transmission. Find out if it will work and let me know
