Over Due Intro

Howdy,
I'm over a year over due. This is our second bus, sold the first one 5 years ago, time for another one. I am married with a couple teenagers and friends that want this project to move along. We bought this bus Oct '14 and we have slowly been working on it. Here it is the day we bought it from a pool maintenance company although plated as a "church bus" (seemed shady). After a year I finally got it plated as a "bus not for hire" (Indiana).

Here it is today, finally got the paint done. Turned out good, I'm happy with it. You never know putting a color on a huge canvas like a bus but I wanted a military green but with a shine, I think it represents.

I gutted and cleaned the interior and just started on the layout this week.
Gunna keep it simple for now.

Plans are a little of everything, camping, tailgate, couples nights out, hauling kids. It will seat 11 including a dinette with bus seats and a sofa then I will build beds in the back, probably dual bunk beds. I will hopefully have enough room for a small countertop and cabinet storage. I don't intend to add any plumbing. I tow a 4x4 for remote off-roading, I hoping it can handle that towing occasionally.

Mmmmm...mighty sweet combo! --- I can't imagine any issues with towing a 4x4 unless you are talking a fully armored HumVee or JLTV.

Nice piece!! I picked the same colour, a matte finish to hide in the bush.

The GVWR is 30k so I'll need to get it weight when I'm done to figure my towing capacity. I have an aluminum trailer loaded with a fj40 or a even lighter highly modified '89 Toyota truck. I'm guessing I will be within that 30k# but I will find out for sure before trying it.
This 5.9 Cummins with the Allison drives awesome. Has air brakes and air ride in the rear.

Great looking bus. Love the paint job! And the wheelchair door up in the front would be sweet! Looking forward to your build.

A bus was not a necessity, I learned a lot from owning the first bus so I told myself on this one I wasn't buying one unless I found one that fit certain criteria......and here I am.😜
