Question Picking up a 1999 International School Bus DT466E

HI GUYS!

My girlfriend and I have been watching this forum for a while now and just wishing we could get the guts to do it. We finally made the plunge and bought a 1999 International School Bus DT466E with the automatic Allison tranny. It's in Indiana and we're heading out there this Spring break to pick it up. It only has 86,000 miles on it. The seller told us there is virtually no rust on the bus. He sells bus parts mainly, but he had one complete (great condition) bus on ebay that I won for $3,500 bucks. Hopefully he's a trustworthy guy. I have to drive the thing all the way back to Denver over a weekend.

Quick question... for driving the bus back, what kind of credentials will I need?

Super excited to share this conversion with other enthusiasts!!!

Cheers,

Brian

Insurance and a tag are recommended.

Street cred

just kidding, first off make sure insurance covers it, we have farm bureau and we are covered on anything we buy except a boat or plane for 72 hrs from bill of sale.
as for tags some folks have to get temp moving tags from DMV, some get temp tags from dealer and others just drive it and play ignorant

it is up to you, be safe and legal

most important thing is this:

Take pictures and write a story and make sure you have fun.....if you go into it without a happy open mind, it can destroy you...just kiding on last part, have fun and post back with details

Having a credit card also helps
