Ready to take to the road

Ready to live free and on the road with the family. We have two kids out of the house and another one that is 8.. She is super excited to begin our new adventure! A lot of the family thinks we are crazy and asks us why not a RV... (Cost/Built material/Coolness factor) We have looked and talked for so long about going the skoolie route instead of a Pre built. Trying to figure things out so that we can work anywhere but live free.
I would like to plan everything out first and then purchase the bus so the fabrication process takes less time. Solar system/composting toilet but with generator and gas for stove/W&D/AC... Hopefully I will be able to get some help planning this project with the community! Thanks....!!!!

Howdy Gumpants, and wecome

It sounds like you're on the right track. Building a bus is a lot of work, but it beats having a large debt from a motorhome that needs frequent repair anyway. At least if you build a bus right it won't have to be fixed all the time.
