Coachwork: Bluebird
Chassis: International 3800
Engine: DT466E (195hp, 520tq)
What type of Allison transmission? The 545 is the most common and the least desirable, not lock up converter so no engine braking. The 1000, 2000 and 3060 and better.

The engine is a good choice and mileage shouldn't be a big issue. The other variable is the rear end ratio.

Rust is always a concern, but what are your plans for the bus?

Sounds like my bus. I doubt they put a 545 behind the DT466 in a Genesis. Why are you bidding now and driving the price up. Don't bid till the last minute.

Don't get too excited, there will be massive bidding in the last 5 minutes.

If you have the VIN, see if you can get a local International dealer to run it to get all the build specs. That would show the model of the tranny, the rear end ratio, options, etc.

So i made some phone calls and i found out that its a AT545 transmission and that they just took it out of service because of the miles.

The 545 doesn't have to be a deal breaker, depending on your intended use. Lots of hills/mountains, towing things, then you don't want it. Flat terrain, just cruising and enjoying the ride, it might be fine.
