Skoolie Folks to Be

Hello everyone! We're two parents, a pair of two-year-old twins, and two dogs who travel across the country yearly, mostly dry camping and boondocking, to visit family in our Toyota Tundra, towing our beloved molded fiberglass Escape 21 travel trailer. We put a lot of love into crafting baby beds and a combination digital piano stand/workstation in our trailer, but the kids are growing... They really need a bit more room and surfaces they can molest without inflicting too much damage until we arrive on the scene. We're very into the idea of taking a year and change to create our own space - and a skoolie looks like the way to go. Based in Alabama, we're looking for a full-length dog-nose that can take on the mountains out west and deliver gas mileage everywhere else that doesn't hurt too much more than the Tundra towing our trailer. Thank you for sharing all your experiences here, and maybe answering some questions, so we can learn what we need to get a bus on the road and get back to traveling!
