Skoolie Prep!

Hi Everyone!

Just joined up - getting ready for retirement in a few years and figured I'd start my researching now!

Will be looking for a bus next year - this fall is getting the backyard fixed up so I can park/work on it next year.

I've done a few Van conversions over the years - so I know enough to know I know nothing about converting a bus!

Look forward to swapping idea's/learning from everyone on the forums!

Retirement

I to am approaching retirement. Bought my bus in October and I'm looking at about 2.5 years and I'll be ready to hit the road! Plan is to sell the house, store some things I don't want to part with and go see all the things I've wanted to see. Do that until I tire of it and then figure out what's next. I can taste it already. I'm so done with work!!

I just took early retirement last year and I can highly recommend it! Actually my Dad had just turned 90, living alone and my wife and I had talked at length over the years about his care. We knew one day we would receive a phone call and have to react to take care of him from over a thousand miles away. Rather than be reactive we decided to be pro-active. So I quit my job, we sold our home and moved from New Hampshire to Arkansas and in with him. Though is body is slow his mind is sharp as a tack and we have had a great time reminiscing, talking shop and watching football together.

I'm in my tenth month of bus conversion. It has been a slow process with projects on projects but very satisfying. Still so much to do but we're closing in on the woodwork part I'm so looking forward to.

Welcome aboard! "Peace be tha journey!"

Ross
