Skooliemom here

Hi y’all (from Texas so I can say y’all😉)

I am a single mom living in a simple no-build build. I only had 30 days to covert my 6 window bus. It runs off propane had all the seats removed and the floor was already insulated. I have a little boy who will be 5 in February. I am looking at buying some land in my area to live off grid. Then travel once we have more of a money nest egg. I have a YouTube channel(nothing posted yet) and Instagram. Tell me what you want to see.👇🏻 Skooliemom 🚌

Sounds like you have your hands full!
I'd seriously think about converting it to gasoline, as LP isn't available everywhere out on the open road.

Your land idea sounds good too, if you can find the right location. That way you wouldn't have to worry about fuel type or converting it, just find a small fuel efficient car to run errands etc. in once you're setup somewhere.

Good luck on your no-build build...

I found a small plot of land in my area. I plan to convert it more just didn’t have the time. I like that it’s propane burns clean and doesn’t give me any issues. I have a tow car already 2016 Chevy that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Hi Zandria06, Welcome to the forum.

As for things I would like to see, I would love to see and here more about your plot of land in TX. I am interested in skoolies as a homestead starter/shelter/home, TX seems to have some great land for camping and homesteading.

I've seen others on this site throw that statement out the window, and travel all over with their propane bus. I'm diesel though, so I can't say myself. I really do see it everywhere, though I haven't found myself actually depending on it...

Propane is everywhere! I can go 300 miles before I need to look for it again and I still have plenty to go. I have an app that shows all the refill stations locations the only place I would be careful is the RV parks they are always more expensive.

Key statement here is "before I have to look for it again. Gas stations are everywhere. LP stations , not so much.

Welcome to you too. Female, with young kid, plot of land... Sounds cozy and exciting.
I'm the total opposite of you. Lol

Just beginning to build (been brainstorming for years)

Hi! I am a single mom too with a similar plan in mind. I’m hoping to buy my plot of land first so I can work on my bus there. The goal is to make both the land and bus purchase this year. Best wishes to you!!
