Soon to be Owner of a 2000 Thomas Safe T liner.

Hi All,

Taking the plunge soon, just put down a deposit. Just need a place to build it in Northern Virginia. Else I have to take it to West Virginia on family land. Anyone have any clues as to where one could build a skoolie?

She's a long bus, a Type D Diesel. Still Commercially registered and ZERO insurance.

Anywho, any input appreciated and, well, hello!

EDIT: All Storage locations cannot accommodate the bus in my area. My area is uptight about rules and regs.

How is VA for GVWR? In MD, if it's over 26k, you need a CDL or 26k+ endorsement to your drivers license (along with pre-trip inspection being graded and road test too - just like a 16 y/o kid). Most fullsize busses of 35' or longer are over 26k unless they are pre-1990.

As far as I have been able to find that limitation does not apply in Virginia.

Anything above 26001 is fair game and is not taxed.
