The only way a frame could crack, without substantial damage to other components, is a manufacturing defect in the frame or steel.
This is not a bus you want to be riding in, because without knowing exactly why the frame cracked you can never be sure any repairs are effective.

I would pay scrap prices for anything with a cracked or bent frame.
