Taking a trip in the new bus

We plan on taking our 1992 blue bird bus on a trip to Golden city Colorado from dodge city ks it has a 5.9 Cummins with a Allison 4 speed automatic were concerned with the hills and how our bus will handle driving in the mountains any help is greatly appreciated it's a big bus 72 passenger it's roughly 45 ft long

Is it school bus, or a coach? If it's 72 passenger, it's likely 40' or less. That drive train in a big bus is very lacking.
