The Daydreamer

I'm a medical assistant by trade renting an apartment in FL. And I want out with all the hassle of living with rent and the baggage it comes with.
Ever since I was a teenager I dreamed of living on the road and taking one day at a time. I started looking at skoolies and I can't get enough of it.
The one thing that worries me is how to start, where can I park my project until ready for it's maiden voyage?
Any trailer parks that are Skoolie friendly down here in FL?

This form has been a godsend for me, full of helpful tips and information. I hope to make my dream come true and live my life freely.

welcome.
my wife is a traveling lab tech. and she enjoys it and after 20 years she is making more than me while travelling.
i am building her a 5 window shorty and a trailer to haul her car and find somewhere to park during her contracts so she can just about pocket her per diem.
she has been all kinds of places since the covid mess started like a little hospital just outside of yellowstone, alaska, michigan, and then a job an hour from the house for 6-months , and michigan begged her to come back for 6 months and basicly said name your price.
just food for thought if you are in the medical proffession already its kind of like freedom of choice to pick where she wants to work for 3 months at a time.
they give her 10 choices to pick from every time.

I was a traveling Physical Therapist 1993-2003.

I was full-time on the road, so I never checked RecreateVehicles resorts.
My 'off' time was boondocking on the beach or up a nearby mountain.

What type of rig fits your RequirementsStatement?
Short, long, tall, rotund, empty, decked-to-the-nines?

I'm looking for a short bus, I want to build it all on my own so I know how it all works. I've been on the lookout on Facebook marketplace and craigslist. At first I would just be scrolling not thinking of it but now every time I see a bus pass by I wonder how it would fit my needs as a home.
