This Old Bus

Hello, everyone. I am a hippie with 3 mini terrorists all whom are loved by a crotchety old man whom we drive to distraction. I have had a bit of wanderlust since I was a fetus and I am finally getting back to my roots decades later. As of now I will be dragging the 3 mini terrorists and the crotchety old man along for the ride with me. I have been searching for a bus to live in full time for a few months now. My other half works 18 hour days (except on Sunday - 12 hour days) so I am left finding a bus. We are going to live in it for 1.5 to 2 years (longer if the decision is left up to me). I would love a Gillig or Crown but I am having a hard time figuring out how all of the tanks will fit underneath. I am currently looking at a 1999 Gillig 40' Low Floor Transit Bus. If we cannot find a way to fit the tanks underneath then we will probably end up with a flat nose school bus. I homeschool our children so I am planning on it being one big educational and social experiment. I am looking forward to many misadventures with my famdamily.

I would like to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the various conversion stories over the last few months and I am super excited when we will be able to find our bus and start our conversion.

Welcome

Crowns and Gillig's look nice, but are not realistic for efficient conversions.

Everything about them makes for a harder, more costly conversion.

A good flat nose Bluebird or Thomas is hard to beat.

There are a few dream buses posted in the for sale section right now.
