Smile UK guy and US gal building a Skoolie in 2020, hi there! *wave*

Hey folks! I'd like to introduce myself briefly

My name is Andrew, and I'm from the United Kingdom. My partner is Dakota, she's from California. We bonded over our desire to see the world and not be tied down in one location, so when she told me about her dream of converting a Skoolie (which I had no idea was even a thing!) I was hooked.

So here we are, planning to get our bus in early 2020!

As I'm from the UK, there is a lot I don't know about the USA, which makes planning the build a little more difficult. I'll be relying on asking you guys and gals a lot of questions, and reading through a lot of your threads and YouTube videos If you think there's something obvious that I don't know because it's a USA thing, please point it out! I'm very grateful.

We are planning to find a 40ft rear engine school bus with the 6ft 6in roof (I'm 6ft tall myself, so the more height the better!), and when I arrive in California in February we will be full time on the hunt for a bus. Until then we'll be planning, designing, researching, and getting to know ya'll!

We will have many questions, please bear with us ^_^

Hi. Welcome to the States Andrew. My wife and I are from the UK also. We live 1 hour from Yosemite. We have converted 3 vehicles over the years and now own a 1974 Crown bus conversion. Good luck with your bus hunt and plans. Hope you guys have a wonderful adventure on the road. This country is massive! You could probably travel for the rest of your life here and not see everything. All the best mate!
