Are you buying that? That's a pretty cool bus. I sure hope you're handy with a tool box.

Yeah, gutted buses are pretty familiar to most of us. It is a certain level of achievement but doesn't show us your build skills yet. Exterior shots would suffice for now.

The only thing that i have achieved so far is getting the motor running, An oil change and getting my air system to maintain 115 psi for 10 minutes after i shut the motor off.

The bus came gutted, just a wooden floor (i dont think there is metal underneath). It was used as a stained glass studio between working for the RCAF and ending up in my hands.

I also managed to track down 7x 22.5 budd steelies, which i will eventually wrap in some 11r22.5s

I like that. You're starting with the foundation instead of starting with the lipstick.

Thank you Robin.

My goal is to have this bus in town as soon as possible, so i can move out of my apartment. That means it needs to survive a 2 hour island, mountain-ey drive. Just hoping i havent overlooked any elements. Being a 59, my oldest - makes me somewhat nervous, however its also the highest quality built vehicle i have ever seen. It has grease zerks on everything.

I dont know if i will do any cosmetic exterior changes anytime soon, just new lights and a good scrub.

I was also dreaming about rolling on a less flashy paintjob for the time being... buuuut i dunno

I like the old stuff, but this time I wanted something more modern but without computers.

There's plenty of examples of roller paint jobs on youtube. I'm working on having a $50 paint job if the weather will ever cooperate.

It's true, these things will make a slow driver out of you. I'd still like something with a driver's door, but not going RV.

Nice find, looks pretty straight. Still has the Red Diamond engine?

It's aluminum body. I've seen some pretty neat polished ones.

Yes! RED 450 gasser

Now with a datsun 720 ignition coil/wires.

There is so many different options for the exterior, and im sooo far from doing anything to it. I surely see some polished aluminum on the sides, a little blue, a little green. We'll see how i feel when i get around to it
