It probably was not a good idea to mount the gun rack in the middle of a window. Just sayin’.

i love it.
definetly look and springs and mount and obviously the brake lines and hardware.
might be off a few years but is that an old oil soaked breather filter?
what did it take to get it to fire?
Yeah to get it to run we ran a 6 gallon fuel tank meant for a boat, and had another 5 gallon tank to fill it whenever we ran out. We changed the oil, routed the coolant away from the heater box, and switched the ignition coil to match the 12V battery we used, and it fired right up. The clutch was a different story because I guess they don't make those 9 bolt GMC clutch kits anymore, so we ended up taking the flywheel in to a machine shop to get it drilled to fit an 11 inch 6 bolt clutch from a newer year. We did bleed the brakes, and they held for just about long enough to get us out of the town we bought it in, and then they blew out.

I wish! no those belong to the company that sold us the bus. They restore those old power wagons, and they had close to 20 of them in that field.

Doesn't sound like you are in over your head. It sounds like you are in the deep end, in your happy spot, and doing just fine.

That is a wonderful find. It just needs a little more TLC and I imagine y'all are just the folks to give it all the TLC it needs.

I love it, that is a great bus. Similar body to my '55 chevy, but I don't have the cargo hatch in the rear as far as I know. Is it over 6' inside height? The little windows above the side windows looks like it was made for taller passengers.

Yeah, it's 6'3" from the floor to the middle of the ceiling. We were wondering about that, we haven't been able to find a picture of another bus with the little windows above the side windows, and most of the other similar buses had three windows in the back, 2 round and one rectangular in between.

That there is a Beast!

I use to play in one like that when I was a young kid.
It sat in a field along with several other old run down cars, trucks, and all types of other equipment on friends of parents property up in Bellingham Wa.
That front end is amazing.

Good luck and positive energy on your project.
