Yippie!!! from a Newbie!!

I am almost a Skoolie!! I am arranging to pick up my 32 ft with an 8 ft deck attached to the rear BlueBird next week from Michigan for its initial sail with me as captain back to California. I can't wait!! I will be logging in and posting some pic from the trip it's blue and was used to follow the Nascar Circuit each year for the past few years...has a deck on top too! Should be fun

Re: Yippie!!! from a Newbie!!

Well, I bought her! This is the shakedown tour. Starting in Yale, Michigan -> made it to Chicago on day 2; -> Springfield, Il on day 3; -> Encountered some vicious thunderstorms in Tulsa, OK, along route 44; spent the night in Stroud, OK, day 4; -> made it into the Panhandle, TX, and spent the night in Vega where I stumbled on the annual Vega Bluegrass Festival (Oh Yeah!!!), Day 5; -> Went south to Planview, TX to see my friends cotton farm, rode in one of those new John Deere's that drive itself by attaching to 10 satellites, then too hwy 70 into Ft Sumner (where Billy the Kid was shot, killed and buried!). Notice a funny smell from the engine. I have a broken fuel line that's dripping diesel on the hot motor...smells like turpentine. It is broken where it goes into the distribution manifold. EVERYTHING IN FT SUMNER CLOSES ON THE WEEKEND! I'm stuck till Monday! Oh well, it's the journey, not the destination, eh? Lots of friendly folks along the way!!, Day 6; to be continued.

Dang, I missed this thread. Hey congratulations and it sounds like you are having great fun. If you can't find a fuel line, just get the cracked one brazed. Good luck from Austin.

That is so true. Even with the fuel line, seems like you have had a good adventure so far. Good luck the rest of the way home
