You want to buy WHAT!!

Retiring in 3 or 4 years, want to start a build to be ready. Any suggestions to get the spouse onboard without getting killed?

Totally depends on what aspect of getting the spouse onboard you're talking about. I was skoolie skeptical, but my wife was pushing for one. After a few years of RV shopping, looking at every offering on the lot, I became less skeptical. Every travel trailer, 5th wheel, and motorhome we looked at had the feel of a rolling motel room. All the same beige walls, granite countertops and tacky decorating and none of them had a panoramic view that a bus does. We figured it we were going to live full time we'd want something comfortable for us. If the spouse has a problem with RVing in general then you might think about renting one for a week or 2 and see how much you actually like it before committing to a project like this.

Definitely stop the bus first when you pick her up.
