2005 International RE 300?

Hi everyone,

We are looking to buy a skoolie to renovate. We are currently looking at a 2005 International RE 300 with DT466E and Allison Transmission rear engine. The reason we are so interested is a lot of the hard stuff has already been done on the bus and it is a great price. Exterior paint, electrical, insulation, interior framing, etc.. I have heard of people on this forum though explaining you should not buy a bus newer than 2004 due to EGR, but i have also read the dt466e is one of the exceptions in 2004-2006 models. Anyhow i just wanted to see what if any of you experienced people could skool me on this and what you would do. Thanks!

All I can give is my opinion- I won't buy/own a Navistar made after 2003.
