2011 International 28 passenger

We're about to pull the trigger on a 2011 International 28 passenger bus with a DT466, Allison tranny, and dual A/C. 116K on the odometer for 7K.

Does anyone else have this configuration? Any advice?

Almost all of us here avoid stuff that new with diesel engines due to the complexity and low quality.
Navistar engines after 03 got progressively worse till they quit making them altogether and now when you buy a new IC you get a cummins if you want a diesel under the hood.

Maxxforce DT in good shape isnt a bad engine.. older busses like EC says are generally less trouble. EGR cooler, and DPF are important to make sure are in good health before you take ownership of a Maxxforce product.. 7K is a bit high for a used bus.. i just recently helped a buddy get an air-conditioned 03 DT466 with MD3060 and 4 year old great tires for out the door price of 4k..

for 7k everythinbg should be in perfect working order, zero rust, great brake life remianing, and tires should be excellent less than 5 years old..

You need to figure out what engine is under the hood, there's a couple potential options that could be in there. The Maxxforce DT is probably the best possibility that could be under there, though it's not a great engine. Walk away if it's a Maxxforce 7.
