Advice please!

Hi Skoolie enthusiasts,

Been planning a bus for a long time. But... recently came across a 92 international midsize. 128000 miles. I know it’s a 5speed manual. Problem is... the lady can’t seem to tell me much about it mechanically, or if it has any rust underneath be she has it parked on someone else’s property and works a lot. All the outside surface looks great! And it’s done (though who knows on insulation.) It’s 7 hours from my location. Any ideas on what motor i might bee looking at? what I should stay away from? Etc. Would really help before I make this trip in 3 days on my 2 days off lol. Thoughts and prayers 😊 thanks everyone!!!

See if you can get a VIN, it can be looked up for some basic info.

Where is it located? Maybe someone lives nearby and can get a look?

If it's an inline 6 cylinder diesel engine than yr in the good as it will likelly be a dt466/dt360 both good engines. If the engine is in a V8 configuration than it would be a 7.3 idi or a gas engine and I would likelly walk away. There are others "v" configured diesel engines aswell but I wouldn't recommend starting out with any of them if I could help it. I have an '89 international Al midsize (7window 28') with a dt360 and a 5speed manu and I absolutely love it! Defenatly worth looking into

Learn about date codes on tires and general tire condition as them suckers are crazy expensive to replace... like $400 a pop for Chinese tires x6!
