Amazon shipping from China

I placed an order from Amazon. I received a shipping notice that said the item was coming from China via China post. I went back and reviewed my order and the page I ordered from. There is no mention anywhere that the item is in China. I think this is unacceptable. I have ordered things from China on Ebay but, I am always able to tell where the item is located. Usually by state but always that it is in the US.

You are able to edit or cancel your order even after you've place it. It's probably time sensitive though.

Amazon out sources almost everything that comes up in a search...

ChinaPost usually provide a tracking number and most things I've ordered have been here in 5 days.

I already have a shipping number from China post, don't think it would be cancellable.

China post tracking is a joke, I've seen items sit at one location for 2-3 weeks then move to another location in China, then say something like "En route to Andrews, IN" that is pretty much meaningless.

I did once receive something from China in less than a week. Usually it's more like two months.

My point is that no where on Amazon did it say the item was shipping from China. The vendors profile page says nothing about being in China or shipping from China. The ONLY clue was the shipping arrival date that, being from Amazon, I assumed to be a few days. I know better now.

While we're on the subject of Shipping, FedEx Smart Post has to be the worst in the world. I've had things make it to within 50 miles from me then go to four surrounding states then arrive 3 days later. How is that cost effective for anyone?

Lol...shipping is weird stuff...a letter going to Dayton, TX from Houston, TX goes to Dallas 1st...Dayton is 45mi east of Houston...Dallas is a 6hr drive

Yea, I've had it take 12 hours for an email to go from my couch in the livingroom to my computer in the office. About 25 feet.

Sounds a lot like #%@!# AT&T phone service. I get voice mail that was sent a week before. Where the Hell is it in the meantime? Do they bounce it off some distant star or something? I mean, a week at lightspeed is a lot of miles!

I have AT&T land line. It's sometimes better than two tin cans and a string

It's the middle of Chinese New Year. Everything shuts down, to a minimum. Korea got back this week, but the Big C has another week.
Have some rice, and relax (-:

In my opinion, you have nothing to worry about until you are really scammed for money. In Europe, goods are delivered within two months and it happens that the goods simply disappear along the way.

I ordered a $50 pair of shoes once from a Chinese vendor (blue suede shoes, don't ask) and what arrived was a sponge. It wasn't even a good-quality sponge - literally the worst, flimsiest sponge I've ever seen. I was pretty mad that they couldn't even send me a decent sponge for that $50.

Always check the "sold by" "ships from" in the price box at Amazon. Try to find the item in a Amazon warehouse. At Ebay sort by "item location" (US only), but some sellers cheat that and ship from China anyway!

Do some people really not know that you can ask questions on Amazon from the seller, like "Where does this ship from?" <groan>
