Most of us avoid it. Here's a discussion over on school bus fleet forum-

Yeah, I'm aware of the known weaknesses of this engine. I'm looking for some images of the engine bay of one of these to see if the after market parts I'm looking at to deal with these known issues will fit in this specific application

which parts are you looking at? from what im told the oil cooler and EGR coolers on the VT and the PS 6.0 are identical.

i have a 2005 ce200 with vt365.
ive driven it all over bc and alberta last year thru the rockies several times and i drove it across canada last june. the only issue i have had with mine was an intermittant ecm start relay. the heavy duty mechanics counldnt diagnose it. it was a 27 dollar fix but i incurred costs for towing. i have enjoyed the process of converting and people think it is the coolest thing. i will buy the diagnostic interface and cable for my laptop software i got free online. limited but functional enough. enjoy the bus. vt365 is just a little diesel thats all...but it pushed my bus thru the canadians rockies! you will get to know the engine and body over time.

Thank you for the reply and I am looking forward to buying mine and hopefully it’s as reliable as yours

Thanks,

I did a post on getting access to navistar's parts database.

I would find the oem part number for whatever you're looking to replace then compare the interchange numbers with the aftermarket part you found. That's what I do.
